It can be diagnosed by DEXA scan which esses bone mineral density. Treatment of Osteoporosis includes consumption of diet rich in calcium and vitamin D, lifestyle modifications like stoping smoking, curtailing alcohol consumption, good excerise help in maintaining bone strength.
Along with these measures drugs like bisphosphonates, teriparatide help in resuming bone strength and decrease fracture risk.
